'Your Life, Your Planet' concept
Neige Aventure has been thinking about how to minimise its impact on the environment as much as possible ever since our doors first opened for business in Haute-Nendaz way back in 1989.
A few years back we pioneered the innovative “Your Life, Your Planet” concept, designed to teach children and adults alike about how to respect and care for the environment and the planet we live on.
It consists of activities designed to draw children’s attention to and develop their know-how of how to ski/snowboard safely and respect for the environment.
These themes are shared with children and juniors by using innovative materials and interactive games during our ski/snowboard lessons.
The games focus on safety and the environment and are always adapted to reflect the skiing/snowboarding level and age of the children in the group.
So as well as improving their riding technique, children have chance to discover various facts about the alpine environment and important everyday mountain safety.
Since last year Neige Aventure has decided to collaborate with Summit Foundation (an independent non-profit organisation - its mission: to reduce the environmental impact of human activities) as part of the Your Life, Your Planet concept.
We are working together with Summit to create an interactive Smartphone app to use whilst teaching on the mountain. As well as helping children become more aware about the local environment including local flora and fauna and the impact of waste and transport on the environment and recycling techniques for winter equipment, it aims to make it fun with games on the snow!
Our Environmental Responsibility
As riders, we all have a duty to educate ourselves about the importance of looking after our environment.
Neige Aventure has been thinking about how to minimise its impact on the environment as much as possible ever since our doors first opened for business in Haute-Nendaz way back in 1989, long before global warming became a household term and before most companies started jumping on the “green initiative bandwagon”.
Neige Aventure has also pioneered the innovative “Your Life, Your Planet” concept, designed to teach children and adults alike about how to respect and care for the environment and the planet we live on.
